What a great year this has been. 2017 offered a lot of fantastic moments that will be cherished forever. We are very thankful to everyone who has given us love and support throughout this year.
Reflect with Beth as she shares her favorite moments from 2017:
"I think the highlights for the year aren't as much about the events as they are about all the people that made this sweet business happen. The people that helped make this dream take shape and move forward.
I would like to thank my customers who put their trust in me to make their cakes... without you all my business would not exist.
I would like to acknowledge my collaboration with other vendors in the industry that support my business (Jane Hammond Events and Montperi Catering Events, Friedman's Appliance, Dacor, Fischer Paykel, DCS Appliance Company). Not only do they use my services for events that need professional but I genuinely adore these folks and their crew. They have been professional, supportive and warm, inviting me in to collaborate with them was a big highlight of 2017. I look forward to working with them for years to come.
Other Vendors in the community that have been a great support that I would like to thank: Stella Carakasi's clothing designer...Woman-owned and run in Berkeley. These ladies were such a phenomenal support in offering me their beautiful space to showcase my desserts on their Grand Opening.
In the latter part of the year, I moved to Forage Kitchen in Oakland and found a wonderful creative community of Chefs and foodies to collaborate and work with. Thank you to the owner's Matthew and Iso!
Last but certainly not least I want to thank my Renaissance Cake family who has gotten behind me 110%! My social media team of gurus Kiara Augustin and Brenda Sanchez-Barragan.. without you there would be no social media! My sister/friend and comrade in arms, marketing maven Leah Euden without you I'd be dead in the water! Shirell Bishop..my sister from another Mr. who set my financial book-keeping up and kept me from losing my mind... Priceless! Grover DeMarinis and my husband Vinny Gil who were ready to haul and pitch tents for events and help finish projects in the middle of the night after working their full-time jobs, you guys were there without question and ready to work it! To my hard working road warrior in the trenches with me covered in flour and sugar, Monique Priolo...Thank you, my love!
To my own family: Thank you to my sister Pamela Fingado who helped connect me to resources within the art community and local community in general, and my brother Randy Morrill for being there. My sister and her husband Katherine and Dave Higuera who are big stars in my heaven urging me forward when I had my doubts..and all my friends who have come out to events to support us. Many, many thank yous for the support, laughter, and love. I am forever grateful!"
